Contrary to what some might believe, I have not been nerfed! Although I’m pretty sure I won’t be winning any popularity contest with the folks over at Chrysler Singapore, I was very pleasantly surprised at how well received that particular write-up was. So what has been happening for the past few weeks that has kept me away from updating this site? Well, mostly trying to get my own personal effects in order before starting a brand new job! But of course, enough rambling, let’s get into it, another edition of Cars & Kopi. The third meet of the year, and one that has a hint of Mercedes-Benz AMG flavour with the local MB dealership showcasing a trio of AMG-powered machinery.
I’m not sure how the year has been for you all but with just 2 more months till Christmas, it sure has shot by me rather rapidly. Hopefully, we will be able to string together another meet before the year ends, allowing Cars & Kopi to finally become a quarterly event. Till then, thanks everyone for making this happen, thanks for making these meets enjoyable, thanks for keeping things sane for everyone and thanks for keeping our little niche of automotive culture alive. It wouldn’t be Cars & Kopi without all of you who attended.
The kind people over at AMG gave us full access to their GLC63S (Sans test drive of course).
With BMW’s X3M yet to be unveiled, those wanting a small-mid-ish sized chunk of metal with monster power will have to contend with either a Porsche Macan Turbo or one of these. I know which one I’d rather have.
The more powerful, quicker and slightly more “affordable” one, with an engine built by Daniel. Personally, I think it looks more ballsy than a Macan too.
Our morning started off early but with rain falling of certain parts of the island, the initial morning turnout was looking rather, modest.
But it didn’t take long for the dark clouds to depart, allowing for more colours started to show up.
Still kicking yourself for missing that Air-cooled boat? Yea, me too. Everyday.
When I was a young boy, I constantly craved a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Nowadays though, I find myself coveting old Porsches.
Of course, that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a seductive mature Italian lady once in a while.
Breakdown. Takedown. You’re Busted!
There’s just something about these old Italian girls don’t you think? A delicacy in their design I just cannot put my finger on.
I reckon I was not the only one feeling that way.
How do you say patina in Italian? Pur-tee-na-reh (while gesturing with all fingers closed in an upward motion)?
Their slightly more modern lineup isn’t too bad either. At least, from an emotional standpoint.
It’s been a really long time since i last saw a Brera Coupe on the streets. They’ve pretty much gone extinct here.
Speaking of rare autos, a lovely red E30 cab turned in and I just had to shuffle my old jalopy over for a photo-op.
Well plaid.
Going by the chatter on the internets, this GTR34 was the highlight for many! I really cannot argue with that. It was wearing BBS LMs.
How’s that for a 2-car garage lineup?
From one dream car to the next, (and one set of BBS wheels to another), here’s a beautiful Z4M Coupe sitting on BBS LM-Rs. Perfect combo finish.
Hand me the keys to one of these and I promise I’ll be content.
I can make do with one of these too. I’m not picky.
Colin who?
The obligatory Cars & Kopi money shot.
Great looking 997 GT3 on Advan wheels. Tasty.
Beemer, Benz and Bent… Oh sorry, no Bentleys today.
How about something a little much more uncommon? This Ford Focus RS.
The always very sizeable JDM crew.
I’m probably one of the least knowledgeable people with regards to 350Z aero, but I think this car is either running Nismo or Amuse body bits. It looked pretty cool though.
Of course we can’t show nostalgic JDMs without throwing this Kenmeri in!
Lovely isn’t she? And an interesting showcase of contrasting design styles.
Tastefully done Mazda 3/Axela, sitting on choice Enkei RPF1s.
Why so serious?
This little pink number shows you can have automotive fun without having to throw down big bucks.
Was anyone able to spot which photos were taken with a mirrorless camera and which were taken with my little Huawei P20 Pro phone?
The 350z is actually using a 380RS bumper. 😁
