Having covered both the Old and Young timers, it’s time to move on towards the cars of a more recent era. Today, we cover the modern classics as well as the latest Ultimate Driving Machines from Bavaria.
There were quite a number of first generation Z4s around and while this car’s design was initially quite shocking when it first launched, i think it has aged really well. The Bunny Girl option was a good choice too.
With these Z4s having reached rather attainable levels on the resale market, it didn’t take long for aftermarket tuners to take notice. Like this Liberty Walk-kitted example. Very Wild.
Like the Pandem Rocket Bunny E30s, i never thought i’d be seeing a Liberty Walk Z4 outside of Japan, especially one with such a wild wrap.
Cruising on air.
Something i don’t usually come across. A Z4 fully decked out Rowen Style. For those who don’t know who Rowen are, perhaps you might know them better by their previous name, Tommy Kaira.
While there’s no denying the appeal of a tuned up Z4, when it comes to something special that you’d like to treasure and keep for a long time to come, there can one variation of the breed. The M-Division fettled Z4M. Seen here parked up next to a very desirable E46 M3 as well. If you had a garage with these 2 cars, mad respect (and envy).
But if you (or anyone else) were to ask me which brand new BMW M is my pick of the entire stable, it will have to be one of these. The M2. Sublime.
It might be the cheapest M car on offer right now, but in my opinion, it is one of the best drivers cars on sale right now.
These one came with some lovely aftermarket additions.
You can never go wrong with a set of BBS LMs on a BMW.
Green accents on the vents are a subtle bit of personalisation that works quite well.
If you don’t want to go the full hog with an M2, there’s always the brilliant M235i/M240i on offer. Drives amazingly well and easier on the finances.

Old vs New. As well as a testament to how much cars have grown over the years with the 3 Series now bigger than the old 5.
Finally deciding that i had taken enough pictures and short videos for my write ups, and with my wobbly legs to show for it, it was time for me to take a break and sit down with a drink to enjoy the rest of Bimmerfest 2 as the sun started to set. The weather was great with a cool breeze enveloping the area and the people were friendly, giving Bimmerfest 2 a fantastically chill vibe, the likes of which i rarely encounter back home. Dear BMW Asia, please send me back, or i might really have to drive up for the next one.
